Hub Director 

Sally Barfoot

Sally qualified as a secondary teacher in 1991 and joined the MFL team at The Redhill Academy in 2001. A former AST, SLE and German Teacher of the Year, she has a passion for teaching and learning and leadership development and has over 20 years experience in designing and delivering CPD in education. Sally is an experienced facilitator and coach and continues to oversee and facilitate Redhill's Initial Teacher Training provision as well as facilitating on the NPQs and ECF.

Katie is an experienced marketing and events professional, as Teaching Hub Manager, Katie manages the operational delivery across all ECF, Appropriate Body, NPQ and CPD offers. She oversees the day-to-day operations and logistics of core Teaching Hub programmes as well as supporting our strategic vision and mission across our region.

Phoebe Robins

Phoebe is our project management guru, she oversees the day-to-day programme activities, supporting all programme leads with making ongoing improvements, quality and customer service. As well as overseeing many of the day-to-day activities, Phoebe supports the Hub to achieve high-level strategic goals, and is never seen without a smile on her face!

Laura is a qualified Careers Advisor with significant experience in supporting the career management and development of individuals from all backgrounds, helping them to achieve their full potential in life and work. She brings a focus on quality and career progression to the hub as our Programme Lead for the NPQ programme, working closely with our lead providers CEFEL and Teach First to ensure delegates have the best possible learning experience during their NPQ programmes.

Dave Boothroyd 

Dave has been teaching since 2001. Dave was previously Director of the Minster Teaching School, overseeing the School Direct programme, Professional Learning and School to School Support for an alliance of over 60 schools, as well as being Deputy Head Teacher at the Minster School, Southwell. Dave now leads the Minster Learning Alliance and is School Improvement Lead for the Minster Trust for Education. Dave is an experienced facilitator of teaching and leadership programmes and has supported  improving outcomes in a wide range of primary, secondary and special schools.

Serena Sellick

Serena has worked for the Diverse Academies Trust since 2004, in most recent years played a key role in the recruitment of trainee teachers and being the Teaching School Leader for Trent Valley Teaching School Alliance.

Appropriate Body Lead 

Caroline Chaloner

Caroline has been teaching Mathematics at The Redhill Academy since 2004. During this time she has been Head of Faculty and was seconded as a Senior Leader. As the Appropriate Body Lead for Redhill Teaching Hub, Caroline is the first port of call for our schools when they have any questions relating to our AB service. Through her experience as a secondary classroom practitioner, and previous head of faculty, she has first-hand experienced that enables her to support schools on this journey.

Our AB and ECF team work closely together to support our schools throughout the Early Career programme, and it’s our job to ensure our schools feel supported by our team, and able to fulfil the statutory requirements for Induction.

Caroline has been involved in ITT and supporting other teachers during her career and is passionate about helping to inspire the next generation of teachers.

Redhill ECF Lead

Katie Day

Katie is an experienced secondary classroom practitioner in English Language, Literature, Drama and Media Studies. She is an experienced facilitator for The Redhill Hub ECF programme, and has been a Mentor and ECT Lead at Redhill Academy for a number of years. Her strengths lie in supporting the development of staff and students; communicating with stakeholders at all levels and creating engaging learning opportunities. Katie works with the Hub team and strategic partners to ensure our ECF programme is rich and engaging for all schools, and she uses her experience to consistently improve the experience for ECTs, Mentors and Facilitators. 

MITRE ECF Lead

Nicole Lyons 

Nicole has been a secondary Geography teacher since 2004 and has worked at The Minster School since 2006. Nicole is passionate about the development of subject-specific pedagogies and has worked with Geographical Association as a consultant and author. Nicole is currently Assistant Head for Teaching and Learning at The Minster School.  As Initial Teacher Education Lead for the Minster Learning Alliance, Nicole’s role includes leading a School Direct programme for a large cohort of trainees per year across the Primary and Secondary phase. Nicole also leads the delivery of the Early Career Framework across Mitre Schools and the Newark and Sherwood Region.

Diverse Academies ECF Lead 

Delia Nicholson

Delia is an experienced practitioner with more than 30 years’ experience, with a passion for teaching and learning. Her first love is the English classroom and the varied students (from 11-18) she has worked with over the years. She has also worked on the literacy transition across KS2 and KS3 to provide a flying start for pupils.

For the last 20 years Delia has worked across schools as an advanced skills teacher and lead practitioner, which led naturally to working in a teaching school; devising and delivering the Early Career Development Programme. For the last 2 years, Delia has been Early Career Teacher lead for Diverse Academies Trust and is now delighted to be collaborating with the Redhill Teaching Hub, with exciting developments planned for teachers across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire in the early years of their careers.

Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Team

 

Redhill Secondary ITT Lead 

Marie Imrie

Marie has worked as secondary science teacher at The Redhill Academy since 2002. While working as an AST and Lead Practitioner for the last 14 years she has supported many staff at different points in their careers, and has successfully led a department in her role as Curriculum Area Leader for biology, using her leadership experience to support staff and encourage them to develop their own leadership skills. Marie enjoys working with all staff to develop their practice, but particularly those at the start of their careers, which is reflected in her roles as the Redhill ECF Lead, Professional Tutor and Science Subject Specialist with the SCITT. She now leads the Redhill SCITT, using her passion for initial teacher training to ensure that trainees receive the best training and provision possible to ensure they have a successful and rewarding career.

Redhill Primary ITT Lead

Linda Shepherd ​​​​​​

Linda is an experienced school leader and SLE who has worked in a variety of Derbyshire primary settings as a teacher, deputy and headteacher. 

She is passionate about providing the best possible education for children through her own teaching and through mentoring and coaching colleagues at different stages of their teaching career. With a proven track record of working alongside teachers and leaders in different contexts to secure improvement and raise standards, Linda is also responsible for managing training and support for student teachers within her role of Trust Primary ITT Lead.

Redhill SCITT Manager 

Sarah Haslam

Sarah has supported the Redhill ITT programmes since 2014, as well as all school staff with CPD across the Redhill Teaching School Alliance, in her previous role as Teaching School Manager. She is dedicated to ensuring the recruitment process for the Redhill SCITT continues to thrive and that trainee teachers receive the best outcomes in their training year and beyond.
