Information For Headteachers
Headteachers have a statutory obligation to:
- Check QTS and eligibility for induction and ensure the ECT is registered on the DfE portal and with an Appropriate Body
- Identify the Induction Tutor and support the appointment of mentors to ensure full access to the ECF training
- Ensure the induction offered by the school meets the statutory requirements of for induction
- Endorse recommendations to the Appropriate Body at formal assessment points signifying whether the ECT is making progress towards meeting the Teachers’ Standards (Assessment point 1) and whether the ECT has met the Teachers’ Standards (Assessment point 2)
- Keep the governing body informed of provision for induction and staff development
